Healthcare innovation thrives when ideas cross borders, and VentureBlick is proud to serve as the bridge through our distributor matching program, which provides a structured and credible pathway for healthcare SMEs to enter fast-growing markets like Southeast Asia and India.
The K-MedTech Wave was one such program designed to do more than just showcase technology. It gave Korean innovators a clear market entry pathway, helping them understand India’s healthcare and regulatory landscape, while connecting them directly with pre-screened distributors, hospitals, and ecosystem partners who can help bring their solutions to patients.
The outcome speaks for itself: 45 one-on-one distributor meetings, visits to leading hospitals and distribution facilities, and the establishment of a strong foundation for long-term collaboration between Korea and India’s MedTech sectors.
Kick-off in Korea: Building Readiness

The program began in July 2025, at the Global R&D Center in Pangyo, Gyeonggi-do. Innovators, government representatives, and ecosystem partners gathered for the Kick-off Meeting, which set the tone for a structured market-entry journey.
The session featured:
An overview of India’s MedTech market highlighting growth trends, certification pathways, and distribution structures by Dr Kailash Jialdasani, Director for VentureBlick India who outlined India’s MedTech landscape.
Participants then heard from Director Wonjun Jang of MediThinQ, who provided a real-world case study on entering the Indian market. Drawing on over two decades of industry experience, he shared candid lessons on navigating distribution channels, building trust with partners, and overcoming regulatory hurdles.
Company presentations, where innovators shared their products and entry goals.
Insights from the Gyeonggi Regional Office of SMEs and Startups, the Seongnam Industry Promotion Agency, Korea Medical Devices Industry Association, and the VentureBlick team.
By combining mentorship, and peer learning, the Kick-off Meeting equipped innovators with both the market knowledge and practical strategies needed to confidently take their next steps toward India.
Pre-Education: Tailored One-on-One Sessions
Before setting foot in India, innovators participated in online Pre-Education sessions in August, conducted by the VentureBlick Korea and India teams.
A key highlight was a session led by Dr. Sharvari Sathe, Head of Business Development & Partnerships, VentureBlick India, who spoke on “Understanding the Indian Distribution Market.” She explained how India’s distribution ecosystem is fragmented, relationship-driven, and requires careful partner selection, helping innovators grasp the realities of building sustainable channels. In these one-on-ones:
Innovators clarified their goals, from distributor partnerships to clinical pilots.
VentureBlick conducted a thorough needs assessment to ensure that the distributor partnerships brought onboard were tailored to the goals of the participating companies for India.
This structured preparation ensured every innovator could maximize opportunities during the India immersion.
India Immersion: Distributor Matching in Action
The India immersion took place in Mumbai on September 16–17, 2025, bringing eight Korean innovators together with India’s distributors, hospitals, and ecosystem partners.
Over two days, the program combined hospital visits, distributor insights, and targeted business matching to accelerate market access and real-world partnership opportunities.
Day 1: Orientation & Distribution Insights

“Choosing a distributor isn’t just a sales decision — it’s a strategic partnership. Look at financial health, network strength, and regulatory experience, not just immediate numbers.” — Nikhil Yadav
Regulatory Guidance: Session on India’s MDR 2017 rules, classification systems, and approval pathways by Operon Strategist, Lakshmi Ranjithkumar.
“Engage with CDSCO early. Complete documentation and strong local representation are key to avoiding costly delays.” — Lakshmi Ranjithkumar
Site visit: Parekh Integrated Services Pvt. Ltd. (PISPL), led by Mr. Atul Parekh and Mr. Sundeep Gursahani, leading supply chain and logistics provider with 160+ distribution centres, gave innovators a real-world look into warehousing, cold-chain, and adoption challenges.

Day 2: Hospital Visit & B2B Matching
Hospital Visit: Fortis Hospitals, one of India’s largest and most respected private hospital chains, provided firsthand insights into procurement and clinical needs. Fortis has more than 50 facilities, 4,500 beds, and JCI/NABH accreditations.
Pitch & Matchmaking: Eight Korean innovators pitched their solutions to a room full of distributors, logistics partners, and one of India’s leading pharmaceutical giants followed by 45+ curated one-on-one B2B meetings with distributors – the heart of VentureBlick’s K-MedTech Wave program. These conversations allowed for detailed discussions on product fit, business potential, and partnership models.
“The distributor meetings gave us clarity — Indian partners are eager for collaboration, and we now see exactly where our solutions fit.” — Korean Innovator

Meet the Innovators
The eight companies that formed the K-MedTech Wave cohort represent the diversity and strength of Korea’s MedTech ecosystem:
PharmaLine: Innovations in aesthetics and wound healing
Dagatronics: Automation for pathology labs
Curiosis: Advanced digital cell imaging platforms
Braintech: Smart health monitoring systems
Wintech Korea: PETG solutions for dental and medical applications

Their journey from Gyeonggi Province to Mumbai reflects the mission of the VentureBlick distributor matching program: helping SMEs expand into Southeast Asia and India with speed, credibility, and structure.

Why Programs Like This Matter
Expanding into new markets is one of the biggest challenges for MedTech SMEs. Trade shows and cold outreach often result in wasted time and mismatched connections.
Through the distributor matching programs like these, VentureBlick de-risks expansion by:
Screening credible distributors across India and Southeast Asia.
Providing strategic guidance on market prioritization and route-to-market.
Facilitating direct introductions and follow-up support for deal closure.
Accelerating regulatory pathways with local registration partners.
For SMEs, this means faster, smarter, and more cost-effective entry into Asia’s booming healthcare markets.
Key Outcomes
K-MedTech Wave delivered results that went beyond networking — it laid the groundwork for real business opportunities:
45+ distributor meetings opened doors to partnerships and commercial discussions.
Innovators gained practical understanding of India’s regulatory, hospital, and distribution ecosystems.
A foundation for future pilots, clinical collaborations, and distribution agreements was established.

K-MedTech Wave was more than just a program; it was a milestone in cross-border healthcare collaboration. By combining structured preparation, distributor screening, hospital engagement, and curated matchmaking, we were able to demonstrate how SMEs can enter new markets with confidence and credibility.
At VentureBlick, we are committed to being the gateway for healthcare SMEs worldwide – especially from Korea and China – to access Southeast Asia and India’s fast-growing markets.
This is just one example of how we help innovators expand globally. Through programs like these we continue to build bridges that bring healthcare innovations to new patients, new markets, and new possibilities.
