  • Growing together with companies that require medical verification and overseas expansion, spurring improved reliability in operating various programmes

  • Over 15 years of industry experience on average, equipped with a global mindset… Implementing a mature culture beyond the limitations of a startup company

Due to the unique way the healthcare industry is structured, many innovative healthcare startups often fail because of the high barriers to commercialisation, despite their excellent ideas and technologies. To overcome this, a professional healthcare innovation ecosystem partner with the expertise maximising medical value is needed.

This is in line with the ‘medical community-led’ global healthcare innovation ecosystem envisioned by VentureBlick, which places true medical value as the top priority.

In a recent meeting with the Medical News, Kevin Yeo, Head of Operations at VentureBlick Korea, said, "Currently, we are focusing most on the consulting business and growing together with companies that need medical verification and overseas expansion through VentureBlick. “This is my primary goal this year,” he said.

The short- to medium-term goal is to expand the partnerships and services necessary to successfully establish the global healthcare networking platform scheduled to be launched in the first half of the year, and an important plan is to increase the credibility of VentureBlick by running various programmes with the Korean government organisations/agencies and public institutions.

Although VentureBlick is a new company, he is rapidly expanding the business and feels a great sense of accomplishment in building it with colleagues working in four countries, Korea, India, and Germany, with Singapore as the headquarters.

With regards to VentureBlick's special strengths, Kevin cited the fact that the company has an average of more than 15 years of experience in the healthcare industry, including all global executives and employees, as its greatest expertise. In addition, he is confident that one of VentureBlick's greatest assets, the VentureBlick global advisory network of over 2,000 people in over 50 countries around the world, is a key differentiator that no one else could easily follow.

He said, “Most of the members of the organisation have a long-term working experience at global healthcare companies, so they basically have a global mindset and a fairly mature corporate culture. Although it is a new company, it is quite different from the typical startup culture,” he explained.

It's an encouraging assessment that most of the employees feel that they are growing in terms of expanding their capabilities and horizons through the creation of a new business leveraging their existing experience.

Kevin said, “As an organisation comprised of healthcare industry experts led by Chris Lee, the Founder & CEO of VentureBlick, we understand the industry better than anyone else, so it is rewarding to witness innovative startups actually producing good results with VentureBlick’s support,” he added.

“A culture driven by a strong desire to make things our own, rather than a fear of embracing new ideas”

VentureBlick established a culture where everyone typically eats lunch together, except for those who work remotely. Afterwards, everyone goes for a group walk to stay healthy. Since we communicate a lot with overseas colleagues, all team members dedicate personal time for English tutoring to enhance their language skills.

Kevin said, “Everyone has a high willingness to learn while navigating the challenges of a new venture. Rather than shying away from the unknown, this enthusiasm to embrace new ideas seems to naturally integrate into our corporate culture.

“Looking ahead, I envision this team expanding into three or more divisions, with existing team members leading each one. Together, we aim for collective growth and success.

At the end of the interview, Kevin said, "A major focus in Korea lately is global expansion," and he emphasized, "We are committed to positioning VentureBlick as the go-to company for global expansion within the healthcare innovation ecosystem."
